How to Re-OS Your Cloud Server in AMP

InMotion Hosting’s Cloud Server Hosting expands your capabilities and options when it comes to Operating Systems (OS). Currently, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian are available options to choose for your OS. With the tools available in your Account Management Panel (AMP), you can choose (from the available options) an alternative OS to replace your original selection. In this guide, you can learn how to use the Re-OS Cloud Server feature in AMP, to select a new operating system for your Cloud Server.

  1. Log into your Account Management Panel.
  2. Under the Cloud Server hosting plan section, click on the Re-OS Cloud Server button.

  3. Read the Important Notice pop-up that displays. Then click on a radio button to select one of the options for the OS you would like to use (as the new OS).
  4. Once you have made your selection for the new OS AND have read through the Important Notice, click on the “I understand the consequences and wish to proceed with re-OSing my server” checkbox.
  5. Finally, click on the RE-OS CLOUD SERVER button.

A message will appear over the controls for your server in AMP:

Currently is being returned to its original OS state. Your Hosting Account Controls will be available when the process is completed.

Once the re-OS process completes (approximately 15-30 minutes), a new message will appear:

Before you will be able to manage, you must setup access to your server.
